Holidays again... I've been waiting for it for soooooo long alr. The busy life in school makes me feel disgusting, and be weary of it. Shits~ ><". Well, I am going to start my "talk" today. It's about guitar, my guitar and me. I started to learn guitar when I was Form 1. I m clearly remember how I contacted to music, through my guitar...

Starting Journey with Guitar.

It was holidays, after UPSR. When I was on the way to go home, suddenly My FM played a song. It was 恋爱ing, i remember. Good song, and it attracted me to listen it. Since that time, I knew what is MayDay. Mayday is a Taiwan band. They are truly good in playing music, giving people lifes and letting people know what is really music be. The band has 1 vocalist (A-shin), 2 guitarist (Monster & Stone), 1 bassist (Masa), and 1 drummer (Guan-you).. So, I started to notice MayDay. What a coincidence that MayDay released their new album that time. It was 知足最真杰作选. At the same time, my dad was going to China, so i asked him to buy me their album (as the price were cheaper). After so long waiting for it, my dad came back and he really bought it for me. In this album, I like 知足 the most. I kept playing, and playing in the music player. Omg, that was really cool. The clean piano sounds had brought me to another world, which was full of pride. And i heard the acoustic guitar sound in the song. Clean and pleasant to ears.. Hence, the feeling of playing guitar fulfiled my heart... I thought, what if i can be like Monster, playing with his cool guitar on the stage, enjoy the clapping of the audiences...

Determined to Learn.

My dad oso knows guitar, and he played it when i was still small. I still remember that he always played that while singing some old songs. He told me that he bought an acoustic guitar for himself at about 200 sth when he was 17/18 sth. That was really a big amount of money that time. He said that he never regret of it. The guitar very old, even "older" than me, and it spoilt as its neck cracked.. I told him I wanted to learn guitar. It was suprised he said YES without thinking more. He agreed. At first, he teached me a bit about some open chords that he knows. But at the same time, he was doing his best to find a guitar teacher for me. I touched... And finally, my dad had found the greatest guitar teacher in Melaka, Ice for me. I m lucky, as i could meet him and be his student. Ice, can say as a legend name for every underground rocker. He is well known with his great guitar skills, drumming skills and so on. He has a studio, named as Ice Music Paradise which is located behind of the Mahkota Parade, or i should say is around that area. The studio is my classroom for guitar lesson. He has a long hair when i first saw him. 100 % looks like an artist. Yes, he is really a great artist in music. I started to learn with him since June or July of 2006, when I was still a small form 1 kid. A strenuous effort are needed for beginner to start their guitar journey. The guitarist must experience the forming of callus in his fingertips. It was a painful experience, but i was lucky that i did not give up so easily. I passed the "first test" for learning guitar. ^^"

First Performance

I had my first performance, with guitar in 2007. It was January.. My school had a orientation for all the form 1 new students. Vincent, my senior asked me to perform for Kelab Kebudayaan Cina (I joined the Kelab Kebudayaan Cina, just because of this is the only club in my school has Guitar Group, but... haih...). He found my classmate, Seah for me and asked her to be the vocalist. This was the first time we cooperated. After a long time of thinking, we decided to play a song, called 依然是朋友. We went school to practise when holidays, December. I admit, my guitar skills for that time really sucks, very very sucks. I don know everything, just a bit basic. But i think i'd done my best to perform it.. I used my old guitar for this. That was the only performance i used this guitar. Very very gam jiong b4 the performance started, even though that was just a small small function. It was a short time on the stage, just 3 to 4 minutes, or even less. When finished the song, the clapping sound "moved" into my ears... The feeling of "syok-ness" made me fall in love with stages. I am here to thank to Seah, who was my partner for my first performance. [ You left me a good memory ! ]. Besides, I also got to thank to Vincent who gave me such chance..

New guitar. Alice.

Like what I mentioned just now, my old acoustic guitar's neck cracked. So I decided to change a new one. I told my dad this. But the responds were not good as what I thought. Dad thought that the guitar still can be used. So I kept on persuading him. And finally, he nodded his head. I asked my guitar teacher, Ice to find a new guitar for me, as he can straight away contact to the supplier and get a cheaper price. He chose an acoustic which is red in colour for me. It costs 400 sth that time, but just because of I took if from my teacher, so it discounted until 350 sth. Quite worth for me... I call it as Alice, just like its brand.

A cool song... Its starting intro are played by clean acoustic guitar. Nice... and easy to play as well. As a beginner, my teacher asked me to learn to play this song, in order to improve my skills. I fell for it when I first listened to it. I played it everyday, repeatedly. I practised hard to this song. This song made a very very important role in my growing guitar journey. From this song, I know Green Day, and indirectly exposed me to English songs, especially those English Punk Rock songs... I started to listen to rock songs, and love it slowly.......

Journey to ROCK !

In my school, there are seldom people who know how to play guitar. I can say, not more than 10. Almost of them like breakdancing or some kind of these. They accepted this, but I wondered that do they really accept ROCK ? I don know...

I met my 1st bandmate, Ratana Loh. He is elder than me, he was form 3, and I was form 2 that time. It was school holidays of 2007, going to 2008. And we decided to go jamming. Just 2 of us, he played as a role of drummer and I played guitar. We jammed and decided to form a band. Both of us like the feeling of ROCK. I like head banging, Ratana as well.

It was hard to find bandmate in my school. I tried so hard and cant even find a number of 5.
Genesis, once he sang in the band, but after that ... ... ;
Prisca, played bass for us. But ... Haih... ;

And more...

It was tough. And until I met May Ling. Ratana asked her to jam with me, Ratana and Genesis. I learnt many thing from her in that jamming. She is a pro guitarist, the greatest female guitarist in Melaka, or even M'sia. She is oso my senior, for SMJK Yok Bin or Ice Music School... 1st time I tested the feeling of ROCK, when jamming along with her...

So, I started to be active in underground live band since Form 2 end/ Form 3...

Electric Guitar- Bones.

I eagered to have an electric guitar. Normally, an electric guitar cost expensive. I eagered, but dare not to tell my dad about this. But one day, I finally cant tahan told him this. He said he ll consider of it. I waited, and waited. No answer came... Quite dissapointed that time.

Almost every Saturday, I ll go to my teacher's music instrument shop and see which guitar is nice.. While waiting for my new electric guitar, i saw many nice guitar gone, as "they" were bought by others... Haih... I wanted it, but failed to get it. But what I must do was just waiting, keep waiting...

I really cannot relate my uncle who do not know music with an electric guitar. But it is truth. He bought me one. I was suprised ! Really... Don know what to describe this. I don know what happened actually.. Just accepted and appreciate it, very much... ! When he bought the guitar, the guitar was 800.. :O

The guitar body has skeleton's images.. Cool... And it is unique~~ I like it very much...

I needed an amplifier, after i got an electric guitar. For ur knowledge, if there is no amplifier, the electric guitar is just like a lebih thing.. My dad bought me one secretly. He put it in my room after i got back from school. I was flying to the sky and trying to play it immediately... Omg... The sound that came out from the ampliefier was wonderful.. The amp. costs 400.. PLUS the guitar, both of these things cost 1200 sth. Horrible number for me...

Besides amp, i need a effect pedal, and we called it as Metal Zone. Something that can change the clean sound to the distortion sound, for playing ROCK usually... I was saving my money to get it. Besides, I oso asked for many "sponsors", LOL... And after 1 month hardworking, I successfully got it at the price of 350~~ To get this, I gave out a lot....

I am working hard with my guitar, going to be an advanced guitarist. I have a dream, that is achieve 30 over performance b4 I enter 17. Still a long time, and I m doing hard to do so. God Bless Me.. !

This is something about my guitar and me. It is a boring post, if u are not interested at all to know what I wanted to say. Sorry for that. ^^"
